Here is my homily for today, Recorded during a morning Mass at the church of St Joachim, based on the text posted earlier. The music today is “Stella Splendens in Monte”, a song to Mary from 14th century Spain, performed by the group Oni Wytars. It’s particularly appropriate for today because although it is Christian and dedicated to Mary, it also sounds like it has musical influences from Moorish culture, which was present in Spain. In one song, it brings together elements of the history of today’s memorial: Mary, and the two sides of the battle of Lepanto.
