People who have been following my blog for a little while will have noticed that I am posting somewhat fewer homilies etc. since my move to Holy Family Parish. The reason is that I am doing fewer ordinary daily Masses, and more funerals. It’s just the way things are working out here. Funeral homilies are more personalized to the deceased and their families, and to the readings the family has chosen, so I don’t post them on my blog.
I’ve also been particularly busy with settling in and adjusting to my new circumstances, so I haven’t had much time to post about other topics. I hope to start posting a bit more again as time goes on. In the meantime, here’s one of several photos I posted today on my photostream:
Thanks for the update. I knew as much you were busy settling-in, didn’t know about the funeral masses though. Hope you like the new role as a diocesan priest. God Bless
It is common for people to get “blogger burnout” after 2-3 years, particularly if there aren’t many comments. I used to keep a counter that recorded how many people viewed what I had written. It was hundreds everytime. However, people rarely commented. It felt lonely at times and did not give me the interactive sense of connectedness I had hoped it would. Anyway, you are extremely bright and very talented. Perhaps you should consider writing a book as your primary focus with the blog being secondary. That would keep you mentally sharp (as you mentioned in another post) as well as change things up a bit. You could delve deeper into one particular topic. Just a thought. 🙂 God bless.
Thanks! What I should really do is write the doctoral thesis I had planned…
we do enjoy your photos. Thanks for Sharing.
I’m sure you’ve mentioned it before, but what is the topic of your doctoral thesis? It could always parlay into a book…Have fun taking classes, researching and meeting with those of your own kind, similar interests, etc. Best wishes going forward. I’ll keep you in my prayers.
