It’s nice to be on vacation! I can do things that take time without having to rush – like celebrating my private Mass today in the Extraordinary Form of the Latin Rite. It definitely takes longer, but I get a lot out of it!
On a more mundane note, I had fun helping my parents and a close family friend to do a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle:
Another long and enjoyable activity was watching “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” with my father. It’s a great movie with wonderfully choreographed and filmed fight scenes!
One of the benefits of being at home is enjoying the pets. I love animals! My parents are currently “foster parents” for two cats. Both have skittish temperaments, but one comes out in the open a lot:
Whereas the other stays hidden:
The Hidden Housecat, practicing the art of not being seen! She’s under there somewhere. She doesn’t usually come out during the day, so I haven’t been able to get her picture… She didn’t want to stand up, and I don’t want to bother her by pulling up the blanket and snapping a photo, blinding her with the flash.
Then there are our friend’s two Malteses, Beau and Sadie, who are anything but shy. They come over to visit when she does, which means several times a week:
I’d have a pet in the rectory if I could, but it wouldn’t be practical, so, I enjoy the pets at home.
