About Fr Matthew Green
Currently parochial vicar at Holy Family Parish, on Cape Ann (serving the churches of St. Ann, St. Joachim, and St. Anthony). I moved to the area in early August '11, and am very happy to be in such a welcoming community and beautiful location!
what is that second flower? it’s beautiful.
Thanks! I’m not sure what it is – I found it by the side of the road. The plant is a large bush, and the leaves are beautiful too.
Both photos are beautiful. The first is a burst of color, and to think that it grows in the wild like that! Awesome. The second is delicate, has a much more peaceful feel to it. . . lovely.
Thanks! Actually, the flowers in the top photo are not in the wild, but in a cultivated garden in a city square. The city was full of flowers when I visited, including a long strip of garden along the walkway next to lake Geneva. It’s a beautiful place to visit.
I suppose the white flower is a simple ‘White Jasmine’ if it had a strong fragrance. Or maybe a ‘Stephanotis’ aka “Madagascar jasmine” if the leaves were waxy!!
oh, most of the jasmines i know of do not have yellow stamens in the middle, but i see that there are some varieties with!
